| Description: |
John has painted some of his father's
and grandfather's country, south of Balgo in The Great Sandy Desert.
This country has two prominent hills, Tjungamunda and
Wanajarra, depicted here as the two pairs of arch shapes. Nearby are tali,
or sand dunes, between which is found a series of small tjurrnu, or soakwaters.
These soakwaters are shown through the centre of the painting
and were made in the Tjukurrpa (Dreamtime) by the ancestral malu, or kangaroo. |
