Description:
Sarah has painted some of her traditional country, called
Minna Minna, located far to the south of Balgo in The Great Sandy Desert.
This painting depicts a series of sites and landscape
features of the Minna Minna area. Along each side of the painting are shown
some of the different waterholes of the area, always shadowed by the tali,
or sandunes, which dominate the land.
Through the centre of the painting are groups of women,
some of them Sarah's ancestors and family, camping by different waterholes
and hunting for different sorts of bush foods. |
